Early heart run.

As you step through the door a siren goes off, the sound echoing in your ears for several minutes as the world goes completely black and empty.

You’re not falling but you’re not really standing on anything either, and all that you can percieve is the sirens still blaring, loud loud loud in your ears--

There’s an explosion so huge you don’t see or hear it so much as feel it through to your very bones. You feel an impact, strange and unsettling, and you think you might be dead? Because you can’t feel your body anymore.

Slowly the sound begins to fade and light and feeling returns, allowing you to see where you are. You’re also alive, good for you.

You end up here at the end. Unless you're Yuki, who ends up here.

Because I get this really bad headache when I go in there.

"That is new. But it's fine isn't it?"

I don't think so. I'm worried. I think... the pictures on the wall have to be stopped somehow, but I can't think of what to do.

"If you don't know, then why do anything?"

Because I care about you, idiot. I was so scared when I saw you lying there with Mira... it felt like my heart stopped. I wanna fix whatever problems she caused, as best I can--but I'm not good at figuring out things like puzzles, so I just... really want to do everything I can to make it better. I love you, you know?

"I know. He loves you as well."

[smiles softly, maybe a little pink]

That means a lot to me... so, if this place is love, then--then I can't just leave without fixing it.

"I cannot help you. This is not my area."

[nods, then reaches over to touch Bishop's cheek]

It's okay. I'll figure something out.

He leans into it, the blood on his cheek turning to ash.

[quietly]

I know Kazuki's your king, and I wouldn't ever take that away from you... it's just, the way you seem so obsessed with him is... it seems like it's hurting. So I wanna help make it better.

"Sometimes things need to be eliminated. But serving Kazuki is why I exist."

Maybe it was, but you have a lot of other things that give you reason to exist now.

"He is still my primary reason for existing. That won't change."

I figured it was something like that... there's something else, too.

"What is that?"

[takes a deep breath]

If you ever find yourself without a King... if, for whatever reason, you can't serve Kazuki anymore... then, just know that, I would have you.

"You have no desire to be a king."

It's more complicated than that. I'm still sorting through my feelings over it, and... it scares me enough to make me want to run away. But I think...

[swallows hard, looking down]

I think that, even if I ran to the ends of the earth, I still couldn't run away from it. I'm not ready to accept it yet, but... if it was for you, I'd manage somehow.

"Why?"

Didn't I say before? It's 'cause I love you.

"My loyalty is to Kazuki."

I know. I don't expect you to take it, but if you ever need it, I'll be there for you.

[lets go of his cheek, and then cracks his knuckles]

Okay. One more go at this.

[heads back into the closet]

"No, I believe you've done enough."

The Bishop grabs your braid. There's a moment of disorientation. You find yourself alone in the upstairs hall, the door locked behind you.

What--?!

[spins around, confused--and tries the doorknob, to no avail]

Hey--!

[bangs on the door a few times]
