Early heart run.

As you step through the door a siren goes off, the sound echoing in your ears for several minutes as the world goes completely black and empty.

You’re not falling but you’re not really standing on anything either, and all that you can percieve is the sirens still blaring, loud loud loud in your ears--

There’s an explosion so huge you don’t see or hear it so much as feel it through to your very bones. You feel an impact, strange and unsettling, and you think you might be dead? Because you can’t feel your body anymore.

Slowly the sound begins to fade and light and feeling returns, allowing you to see where you are. You’re also alive, good for you.

You end up here at the end. Unless you're Yuki, who ends up here.

The vines are trying to reclaim the territory they lost.

Alright you fuckers, this means war.

[setting down the cup of water and forming the end of the rag into a ball; opens the lantern to try and light it]

Cloth isn't the easiest to light on fire, but you can!

[quickly taking the flaming rag and pressing it to one of the weird thorny vines]

It shrinks away but some leaves catch fire and begin to wither. It looks like the fire will spread quickly.

[enough to get a goodly amount, but not enough to threaten burning the room down. which is why he's going for his cup of water after a second]

That's probably a good idea because it's catching fire fast, if you aren't careful it'll get out of hand.

The burnt vines sizzle and writhe a bit, crumbling.

[now that he's aware he can make a dent in this, Bart is going back to get some water from the kitchen and proceeding to burn his way through as much of the vines as possible]

You do it! You burn back the vines. You also catch a curtain on fire and get soot everywhere, but you probably have that under control.

[yesss good. flopping back on the floor after that's all done, admiring the pile of soot]

Phew.

As you dispose of the last of the vines, the room flickers and the feeling of distance and sadness increases, an almost overwhelmingly helpless feeling.
